As of the same date, Vihand will also become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kulinaaria OÜ, a subsidiary of Selver AS. Under her leadership, Selver has multiplied its scale of operations and sales revenue, developed a unique nationwide online grocery service in Estonia, invested in modernising its stores and strengthened its position among Estonia’s leading grocery retail chains. “We thank Kristi Simonsen for her many years of dedicated and successful work. Under her leadership, Selver has undergone a remarkable journey of development,” said Puusepp.
Kristi Simonsen said that she considers it a great privilege to have witnessed Selver’s development and growth over the years. “I would like to thank all Selver employees and partners who have played an important role in the company’s success. Companies, like people, occasionally need new ideas, new energy and a fresh perspective. This does not diminish what has come before, but gives even greater meaning to everything that has been achieved so far,” Simonsen added.
Jaanus Vihand, the new member of the Management Board of Selver AS, has extensive management experience spanning retail, the food industry and the technology sector. Since 2022, Vihand has headed A. Le Coq, Estonia’s largest beverage producer. Previously, he has served, among other roles, as CEO of Bauhof Eesti, Chairman of the Management Board of Coop Eesti Keskühistu and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Coop Pank. In 2019, he received Estonia’s Best Manager award, primarily in recognition of his work in retail.
According to Raul Puusepp, the new CEO is expected to work together with Selver’s experienced team to further develop the company’s strong market position and identify new opportunities to improve its competitiveness, customer experience and operational efficiency. “Jaanus Vihand has broad management experience and an in-depth understanding of both retail and the food industry. We expect him to build on Selver’s existing strengths and lead the company into its next stage of development,” said Puusepp.
Jaanus Vihand said that Selver is one of Estonia’s best-known and most loved companies and an integral part of everyday life for a great many people. “All of Selver’s managers and employees can rightly be proud of the company’s success and of their contribution to it. At the same time, the world is changing, and major changes are also taking place in Estonian retail. My goal is to work towards making Selver the preferred choice for more and more people in Estonia, and a place where they can find something good for every day.”
